Editorial comments: Written in 1938, the text became famous in the occasion of its publication in “Arte concreta 10”, review and exhibition catalogue, Galleria Annunciata, Milan, 1952. 26 pages including 8 fold-outs, stapled, printed b/w on various coloured paper and crystal paper, 16.5 x 16.7 cm, text in Italian. The leaflet includes four manifestos, Manifesto del Macchinismo, Manifesto dell’Arte Totale, Manifesto del Disintegrismo, Manifesto dell’Arte Organica. These manifestos were sometimes regarded as jokes (c.f Interview with Gillo Dorfles in Maffei, G. MAC. Opera editoriale, Sylvestre Bonnard, Milan, 2004). Nevertheless, in 1938, when the first version of the text was written, Munari was still close to the Italian Futurists, with whom he had collaborated proficiently, signing four Futurist manifestos with his name.
