Editorial comments: Between the members of the group, which, when it was founded, had around 200 members (including 80 writers and 120 artists), we mention Léopold Averbach, Théodore Dreiser, Maxime Gorki, André Marty, Romain Rolland and Edmond Fritsch. Created on 17 March 1932, the Association of Revolutionary Writers and Artists was promoted by the International Bureau for Revolutionary Literature of the Communist Party. Although deeply political, the association federated writers and artists engaged in creative research.
